Microsoft DynamicsTM Great Plains Project Engineer

Job Description & Essential Responsibilities:

The Microsoft Dynamics GP Project Engineer participates in the successful implementation and support of Microsoft Dynamics GP solutions. This position architects the integration of hardware, software, and customer requirements by translating business needs into software solutions available within the Microsoft Dynamics GP modules and possible third party applications.The Project Engineer is typically involved in the architecture and design of the solution and may hand it off to other team members for testing, training, and implementation support. Additionally, the Project Engineer acts as a solutions architect by providing solution reviews/quality assurance, validating testing plans, and overall ensuring that the solution provided will meet the needs of the client. 

Client Project Delivery:

Under no to very-limited supervision:

  • Leads client workshops to map the business processes and requirements to software solutions
  • Completes software configurations to meet desired software functionality or may supervise others completing the configuration
  • Completes system design documentation and presents to the client for review and sign off
  • Performs other activities such as documenting custom report requirements, developing customer reports, designing/documenting/executing data conversion activities, and performing data validation
  • Researches alternative solutions (when appropriate) and brings well thought out proposals to management
  • Prepares for and conducts acceptance testing with key client stakeholders
  • Provides input and feedback on testing schedules, agendas, and test plans
  • Provides input and feedback on client training
  • Understands and follows project standards
  • Develops and applies knowledge of industry standards and best practices
  • Ensures project documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately
  • Brings scope changes or other change requests to the attention of project management

Client Support:

  • Provides post-implementation functional and technical support to clients
  • Researches issues, provides recommendations, and escalates issues as appropriate
  • Receives issues that are complex in nature with multiple points of investigation, resolution paths, etc
  • Works well with clients and provides exceptional service
  • Works with sales team to deliver product demonstrations to prospective customers
  • Ensures technical support documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately

Operational Efficiency:

  • Understands software implementation methodologies and utilizes firm methods to achieve predictable, sustainable results
  • Promotes continuous improvement by pro-actively identifying ways to improve service delivery
  • Works effectively with all groups and teams at AIT such as sales, finance, etc.
  • Recommends and implements improvements to project implementation infrastructure (design documents, test templates, etc.)
  • Thoroughly understands the project charter and schedule for all assigned projects and works with the project manager and other assigned consultants to identify project risks
  • Communicates opportunities for additional client work to appropriate team members

Leadership and Communication:

  • Shares knowledge with team members and encourages others to do the same
  • Effectively communicates within the team, the company, and clients
  • Works effectively in a team environment
  • Appropriately escalates issues to team members, AIT management or external technical support
  • Works with management to keep projects on schedule and recommend needed action to meet deadlines
  • Provides mentorship and leadership to staff and senior consultants through task delegation, explanations, and encouragement

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other related field
  • Currently certified in Microsoft Dynamics GP
  • 5+ years of accounting software implementation experience, preferably in a consulting environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Thrives on delivering exceptional customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Overnight travel will be required

Network Infrastructure Senior Consultant

Job Description & Essential Responsibilities:

The Network Infrastructure (NI) Senior Consultant is responsible for the successful deployment and maintenance of client networking solutions. This position may participate in any of the phases of a network deployment or upgrade including planning, engineering, building, testing, and cutover. Additionally, the NI Senior Consultant will participate in the maintenance of client networks to ensure that security, performance, and storage requirements are met.

Network Engineering:

  • Performs network design and engineering for new and existing clients
  • Leads and participates in new network deployments
  • Effectively applies best practices and follows project standards
  • Ensures project documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately

Network Maintenance:

  • Participates in routine and scheduled maintenance visits with clients
  • Pro-actively identifies potential issues or opportunities to clients and AIT
  • Ensures network documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately

Communication:

  • Shares knowledge with team members and encourages others to do the same
  • Effectively communicates within the team, the company, and clients
  • Works effectively in a team environment
  • Appropriately escalates issues to team members, AIT management or external technical support

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science or other related field
  • Current MCSE certification
  • 3+ years of combined technical consulting, system administration, or network administration experience in an enterprise environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Oriented to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Technical Knowledge (must have all three of the noted required knowledge areas below, others are a plus):
    • Extensive knowledge of Small Business Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 and Exchange Solutions (required)
    • Comprehensive understand of A/V and backup solutions (required)
    • Prior experience implementing Exchange 2003/2007, Unified Messaging, and LCS/OCS
    • Solid understanding of SQL 2000+
    • Strong knowledge of McAfee and other security/anti virus solutions (required)
    • Experience designing and implementing routing and switching infrastructure
    • IT Project Management experience
    • Experience designing and implementing SAN technologies

Must have valid Alaska Driver's License, a car, and auto insurance.

Overnight travel will be required.
